Application:

Sulfuryl fluoride is in widespread use as a structural fumigant insecticide to control dry-wood termites.

Sulfuryl fluoride is an inorganic compound whose chemical formula is SO2F2. It is a colorless, odorless, toxic gas under normal temperature and pressure, slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol, benzene, and carbon tetrachloride. It is chemically inert, does not decompose at high temperature, is stable at 400°C, and is not very reactive. When it meets water or water vapor, it generates heat and emits toxic corrosive gas. In case of high heat, the internal pressure of the container will increase and there is a danger of cracking and explosion. Because sulfuryl fluoride has the characteristics of strong diffusion and permeability, broad-spectrum insecticide, low dosage, low residue, fast insecticidal speed, short aeration time, convenient use at low temperature, no effect on germination rate, and low toxicity. It has been widely used in warehouses, cargo ships, containers and buildings, reservoirs, dams, termite control, and garden overwintering pests and living tree stem-boring pests. Sulfuryl fluoride has significant efficacy, and has good control effects on dozens of pests such as red beetle, black bark beetle, tobacco beetle, corn weevil, wheat moth, long beetle, mealworm, armyworm, mealy beetle, etc. Studies have shown that the insecticidal effect can reach 100% when the dosage is 20-60g/m3, and the fumigation is closed for 2-3 days. Especially for the late stage of insect embryos, the insecticidal time is shorter than that of methyl bromide, the dosage is lower than that of methyl bromide, and the air dispersal time is faster than that of methyl bromide. Sulfuryl fluoride is also used as analytical reagents, medicines, and dyes. Sulfuryl fluoride has stable chemical properties and can be safely used for fumigation of general indoor materials. Precautions for storage: Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. Keep the container tightly closed. It should be stored separately from alkalis and edible chemicals and avoid mixed storage. The storage area should be equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment.
